Having a current and well-grounded Community Led Plan is really important for a village like Hadnall. It can be used as evidence of the community's wishes for the present and future, in planning and other matters, as well as giving vital guidance to bodies like the parish council as they seek to spend your Council Tax in the best ways for everybody locally.
For information about the CLP, have a look at our new website page. This will be kept up-to-date with information about the process. And of course we will keep you fully informed of consultations and surveys as and when they happen.
Would you be able to help it happen? Please get in touch. Every little helps.
Our villages have been so fortunate in having a fantastic local magazine that shares so much of what's happening as well as advertising local businesses.
Our huge thanks go to Pam Stephenson for all her work over so many years to keep this publication relevant and entertaining, and for so successfully chivvying all of us (parish council clerks included!) into providing news items on time every two months.
We're so pleased that the magazine has been taken on by Lesley Allsop, who has put a lot of effort into her first edition - looks great! Do continue to support this local venture, by buying the magazine, contributing articles of local interest, or paying for advertising space.
Here's to the ongoing Hadnall & Astley News!
Rising Main Works
We expect to have an identified solution by this autumn. Once confirmed, we’ll provide a more detailed update. Ground investigation surveys are planned for this winter, which will be visible to the community. We’ll ensure advance notice is given and will be available to answer any questions locally.
Landowner Consultations
The delivery team is keen to begin consultations on potential route options soon. We’d be happy to include you in these discussions to ensure local perspectives are considered.
SuDS Opportunities in the Playing Field
Surveys are scheduled in the coming few weeks to assess the feasibility of reconnecting flow from the existing sustainable urban drainage system within the playing field. We aim to have a draft proposal ready by autumn/winter.
Infiltration Management
Flow surveys and CCTV investigations are underway to help us understand how best to manage infiltration and reduce excess water entering the sewer network. We’re also working to gather updates on property-level surveys carried out by our tactical asset planning team. We’ve been awaiting a response, and I’ll follow up personally to get more clarity for you.
Pump House Investigations
A flow meter has now been installed to support root cause analysis and help us understand how flow is entering the system.
Re: planning application 24/04834/FUL (44 houses on land south of Wedgefields):
The rest of the documents from the developer have now been published on the Planning Portal (https://next.shropshire.gov.uk/planning/), along with an amended Grampian condition that Severn Trent are requesting be put in place, should permission be granted for the development.
Hadnall Parish Council will be meeting on Thursday 18th September at 8pm in Hadnall Village Hall to consider its response to the amended application.
